Day 3

From Mammoth Cave, we are heading south and west 300 miles to Shiloh National Military Oark.  Passing through Nashville there are elecronic signs stating "Buckle up, ya'll. It's the law."

Once we get to Shiloh, we will check out the NP, and eventually find a place to sleep for the night.  No more carsickness today!  The kids are keeping occupied in the car with an occasional DVD, and checking things off their scavenger hunt and license plate lists.

Even though it was a big item on my preparation list, I still managed to not pack any instant coffee, so that is on the list for our next shopping trip.  Our set up is working really well for us.  We are towing with our 2003 Ford Excursion which Ken outfmitted with a front hitch tray to mount the Honda 2000ui generators.  We are towing a Starcraft hybrid camper (24') which is very easy to set up and tear down. Last night, Ken put the big USA map on the side of the camper and the kids started applying the state stickers where we have camped or done some significant field trip.  He also designated another area of the camper exterior for bumper stickers, the first one being Mammoth Cave.
